M. Orhan Eriman
Orhan has been counseling clients on both contentious and transactional matters, particularly in relation to trademarks, designs, patents, utility models, copyrights, domain names, and unfair competition, primarily in the entertainment, food, textile, consumer products, cosmetics, and fashion industries for over 30 years.
In protecting his clients’ valuable IPRs, Orhan develops and implements strategies that include, as necessary, contractual transactions, IP due diligence, mediation, negotiations, investigations, and other enforcement actions.
Background and Experience
Orhan has a diploma in Business Administration Department from Anadolu University. He entered the patent and trademark business in 1987 and then became one of the managing partners at one of the Turkish leading patent firms and supervised the Istanbul Office till 2005.
After the first launch of the Turkish IP attorneyship title as a profession, he passed the exams and qualified as both a patent attorney and a trademark attorney in 1997 and then a European patent attorney in 2001.
Orhan, one of the leading Turkish IP practitioners, has lectured many business associations and companies for over 30 years, and has been involved in projects and committees for increasing intellectual property consciousness throughout the country.
Professional Affiliations
Orhan is an active member of business associations such as the Assembly of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Fenerbahce Sports Club, and the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) of Turkey. He has also membership at the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI), and Turkish Patent and Trademark Attorneys Association.
